“My ideas grow strong within me. On Every seventh wave, and
like a by-the-wind sailor I float on inspiration, and am carried to distant
shores.”
There is always a
beginning. But sometimes the task of figuring out where adventures begin is the
hardest part and once you find yourself at the starting line, it can seem even harder choosing to run when the gun fires.
My Ideas grow strong within me. We must find where our story begins within ourselves first, and then we just go for it. It all starts with step one and step one is the hardest or at least that’s what they say. It’s like when you watch a baby take her first step. She spent days and weeks and months literally teaching her muscles how to function but once they do its never that hard again. Then, before mum knows it, she’s running all over the place stealing shoes and painting beautiful murals on the walls with your favorite shade of red…and I digress.
So the real question must be this: What muscle did/do you have to strengthen to take your first step? This is a bit of a metaphorical question because for me it was easily the muscle of belief. I had to learn how to give myself permission to believe - to trust. Believe me, I’m still working that muscle out. It has been a great push to allow myself to believe and trust in the things I once perceived impossible to understand. It’s a funny little paradox and a simple task, is it not? Actually, it is but it sure doesn’t feel that way. When you've been thrown into the midst of life and its time for you to take that muscle for a run, it can be quite challenging. Sometimes you may feel weak and it can even seem painful. I know. I feel that way at times. But I think the challenge is what makes it so worth trying. The truth is that if you continue to work out those metaphorical muscles, they will eventually become stronger and using them won’t ever be as hard again.

Find your starting line and when you hear the gun fire. Run.
